just a thought!.
Why is it that all of the open source word processors use different file
formats,IE not a standard way to save docs,They might all use XML as
their file format but the different way the files are stored makes them
incompatible with each other.Try to open a kword doc in abiword or visa
versa.Should not the user be able to choose what word processor he/she
uses and not have to worry about which way the file it is stored,or in
what format.
The standard in windoze world is the .doc format should not the linux
world have the same (i mean a standard file saving format XML).
so if i wrote this in abi word i would be able to open this in kword,
openoffice without having to worry about re saving it in a format that
can be under stood by all before i can use it with another word
processor.
I know in the linux world it's survival of the fittest (I.E only the
best will survive) pity it's not the same in the windoze world.
