I know there was some people on this list trying to get a SiS 630 to work with
linux. I had posted a hack to the sis driver on my site that sorted this out
using frame buffer.

I had been using SuSE 6.3 on my laptop and this weekend decided to upgrade to
RedHat 7.3.

It seems that RH have packaged there own version of the sis driver and now it
works from the box, without using frame buffering. I have noticed a much
better performance from this hack.

Just in case people where thinking of upgrading.

J.
