An informative site is:
http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html
I'm sure Rick Moen may have some input?
http://linuxmafia.com/~rick/faq/
The first distinction to make is that an internal
modem is not necessarily a winmodem (i.e. basically
a simple soundcard that needs non standard software
to work). Linux should work with all internal
modems that are not "winmodems", and it even works
with some winmodems, details which are documented:
http://www.linmodems.org/
so what to get and where to get it?
I had a quick look @ http://www.komplett.ie/
and they only had an external modem
I'd search http://www.dabs.com and see if they've any.
