that whole article is a pile of crap anyway.. it's all anti-linus.

I've never come across a quote from Linus saying "Right guys, you're
not to give the FSF any credit for the work they've done, and please
don't mention their name in conjunction with my work". In fact, everything
I've read from him acknowledges the part the FSF/GNU work did in his
being able to produce linux.

He produces linux the kernel. The combination is something else,
and IMO it's up to the vendor what they want to call it. Debian call
it GNU/Linux... redhat don't. (and don't allow anyone else to use
the name RedHat.. that's their perogative).

I haven't seen him running around insisting it be GNU/OpenBSD. Even though
that ships with a feic load of gnu utilities (gcc for one).

(And I haven't seen the BSD guys insisting that they call Redhat 4.1, Redhat
4.1 BSD/Linux).
