As a side note,
rpm uses popt extensively. The main advantage
this over getopt is the use of aliases.
I.E. in a configuration file, there is a mapping between
various aliases and "basic options". For e.g. you
could define a "--Niall" option, which is mapped to various
other options. So what's probably happening is that, that
alias is only configured when you install the rpm-build package?
