Hi,
You wanna reboot the machine and at the lilo promt type "linux single".
This will log you in as root, now type "passwd" ad enter a new password and
reboot again :)
Things should be fine then.

Subject: [ILUG] root password has changed - how do I reset it?
Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help me with this.
For some reason my PC was back at the login prompt this morning - probably
due to a power outtage. As a result my root password is not working anymore.
Yup, this is strange but I have no other explanation for it.
I need to reset the password but I'm not sure exactly how to do this. I've
read a few things from googling but I was wondering if you guys have any
tips
on how to do this?
Thanks.
PS: I'm using Red Hat 7.2.
