[ILUG] Finger errors in mail

[ILUG] Finger errors in mail

Fergal Moran fergal.moran at wasptech.com

Anyone have any idea why I keep getting this in my mailbox

finger: cannot create socket / connet host (sic)

And
sh: safe_finger: command not found

From a variety of network services (vnc, ssh etc..)

Box is running RH7.3.

Both safe_finger, finger and in.fingerd are on my box and in my
hosts.allow and /etc/xinetd.d/ and appear to be working ok (well I can
finger users on the box from another box)

Fergal..
