...is a nasty little piece of Perl/Tk that will monitor an interface and
give you approximate current and peak tx/rx rates. This might give you
at least some idea of what you're pushing down the pipe. Of course, IIRC
I have it set up to read the precompression data rather than what
physically goes over the wire, so I'm not sure how much help it will be
to you. And you may have to kick it a few times to make it work. That's
why it's under "workshop" :)
