Okay,
in scenes reminiscent of Kate struggling with a Cube, I've been
installing SuSE 8.1 over the network onto a P133 <yeah, yeah, I know - get a
better box !)
Anyway ...
The default install over the network didn't include a kernel image
... so, a quick install later of the SuSE k_deflt package and it recommends
rebooting to 'activate' the new kernel (it had been happily using the setup
disk's kernel image for the last two days !)
Anyway, one reboot later and Grub tells me it can't find the initrd ... if I
go without one, it can't load the root (ReiserFS) ...
How borked am I ? ... I'd prefer not to have to go and install the entire
system again .. what's SuSE's package for the default initrd ?
