I need a point? Damn.

Actually, all I was suggesting was that perhaps you could append to your 
quoted URL the fact that Red Hat have done what they've done, so if you 
install kernel-source.rpm it's not going to run riot over /usr/src/linux 
and cause you headaches. By "revisit" I don't mean "toss out entirely 
and start over", just "add potentially useful and pertinent information".
