Hmm ... In an update ... having booted into single user mode ... and waited
... it seems that it's the SCSI controller is causing problems ...
Why it worked happily in 2.4.18 and not in 2.4.19 is now the question ...
it's a DC390 Controller using the tmscsim Tekram driver ... (which ISTR
isn't the mae-west ??)
Anyone got suggestions on how to tune down the driver a little so that it'll
work (even if it drops performance a little ... )
