Yes, try selecting "use realmode apm bios call to poweroff" or if its
already selected unselect it. Its in the general options (down the botom of

Subject: [ILUG] recompiled kernel - no shutdown
I've recompiled a new kernel, however on shutdown the system goes through
the normal shutdown routine but wont physically spin the disks down and CPU
fan etc. Have i missed a feature in the kernel somewhere, APM or APCI ??
