I was looking for a USB to serial adapter the other day, and actually
found one on the net. However, it appears that the adapter requires a
software driver which, guess, is only available for Windoze :-/
Is anyone aware of an adapter that would just work without a software
driver? I'd like to use my Linux/OBSD laptop as a serial port terminal
with Sun servers. Additionally, I could connect an external modem that
way, cf. internal modem = winmodem ...
If my request is unreasonable, a pointer to a document that explains the
differences between USB and standard serial (RS232?) is also welcome :)
