Hi All,
I've installed MySQL from a standard RH 8.0 install. When I try to
start it, the following error occurs:
"Fatal error: Can't change to run as user 'mysql' ; Please check that
the user e
xists!
021016 16:50:54 Aborting
021016 16:50:54 /usr/sbin/mysqld: Shutdown Complete
021016 16:50:54 mysqld ended"
Now, I definitely have a user called mysql (I can su to that account).
I've done plenty of digging and not come up with anything definite.
Questions:
1. Anyone seen this before ?
2. Is there a way to get verbose logging from mysqld ?
Cheers,
Dermot.
