Hi,
I'm attempting to install Amavis (A Mail Virus Scanner).
One of the dependencies is arc (an archiving tool).
I've downloaded the arc source file (arc521.tar.Z)
and tried to install it, but I get the error:
$make
gcc -O -DBSD=1 -c arcdos.c
arcdos.c:35: redefinition of `struct timeval'
make: *** [arcdos.o] Error 1
The relevant section of arcdos.c is (comments are not mine):
#if UNIX
#include <sys/types.h>
#include <sys/stat.h>
#include <time.h>
struct timeval { /* man page said <sys/types.h>, but it */
long tv_sec; /* really seems to be in <sys/time.h>, */
long tv_usec; /* but why bother... */
};
#endif
I remove the redefinition of the timeval struct just see what happens,
and I get further errors:
tmclock.c: In function `tmjuliandate':
tmclock.c:34: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
tmclock.c:35: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
tmclock.c:36: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
tmclock.c: In function `tmsubdayclock':
tmclock.c:75: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
tmclock.c:76: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
tmclock.c:77: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
make: *** [tmclock.o] Error 1
Has anyone dealt with this issue - i.e. installed Amavis/arc?
Any suggestions as to how to proceed?
Thanks in advance,
Cormac.
