AFAIK RedHat doesn't have the alcatel driver out-of-the-box, nor the
management tools for the modem. But it does have everything else you
need. ATM support is in the kernel, the SAR library is there, as well as
the brctl tool for setting up the ethernet bridge over ATM. RedHat's
kernel and ppp support PPPoE with the rp-pppoe.so pppd plugin.
Not everything you need, but a solid head start.
