Get and install spamassassin if you can at all. The only way I know spam
got to the list is because people are always replying to them asking how
to stop them going to the list.

It's been said loads of times on the list before that it shouldn't be
moderated or locked to member posting only or anything like that. I
believe it was also said a couple of times that dealing with the spam is
up to each individual and not the list maintainer.
