How much Data do you want to backup and what is your backup window each
night?

Are you only doing Filesystem backups? Or have you databases backups also?

Do you deal with production databases which cannot be shut down and so need
to be backed up online?

Whats your budget? :)

Anyone got any recommendations on a backup up systems for a large linux
enviroment? But must also be able to cater for win boxes as well.

I am looking at the veitas stuff at the moment and I have to say it
looks really nice. Anyone got or used any alternatives?

Cheers
Aj
