[ILUG] Helvetica Font

Just curious why all the fonts on my machine (Mandrake 9.1) render beautiful 
in OpenOffice  with the exception of helvetica which remains a crumbly mess 
and helvetica doesn't appear in KOffice at all? Here is a bit from our 
XConfig file... any ideas?
