It was I who was talking pants. I just checked it now I'm home and I get:
3097.800 FPS 	(athlon-xp 1.4Ghz) &  2271.800 on the celery 2Ghz.

True, however its the end result that counts for gamers.

Mandrake 10 is sweet I must say, but the onboard NIC is flakey on 2.6.3 
(default kernel). MDK kindly provide 2.4 flavours aswell so I'm gonna try 
that first. Has to work as other kernels did

I put a bad passwd when loggin on and instead of the usual error message, the 
screen "--shook its head--". Thought that was a nice touch.
