there are very few things that microsoft invented in the computing
industry. and tco isn't one of them. they're just using it like any
company in the past has used them. tco isn't even a child of the
computing industry i'd suspect.
heck, my only real annoyance with ms is that their bugs and design
problems aren't even new. various unix vendors and unix applications had
many of the problems windows is having now - a decade (decades?) before.
well, that and they peddle these mistakes so vigorously.
