I have a GX270 beside me running Fedora Core 1 with no problems. Note that if you select a SATA HDD, only the latest linux distributions will have support for SATA drives. Redhat 9 does not, Fedora C1 & C2-test1 both do. I don't know about other distributions.

It's only a problem if your distros installer kernel doesnt have support
for it. This is a great installer for debian:
