[ILUG] Epson `Parts ... require maintenance or replacement'?

  | The company I work for service printers [ ... ].
  | I have come across this problem [ ... ] and it requires
  | a good amount of work to fix. [ ... Cleaning the pads
  | often suffices ... ] You could try it yourself but
  | printers are notoriously hard to take apart.
  | Best of luck!

thanks for the warning, and also for the
tip to try cleaning the pads.

however, until I can reset the printer,
 I won't be trying to replace/clean the
pads at all --- according to the Google
results, the printer is "dead" and will
stay dead (no matter what) until reset.

so until I can kick it back into life,
both dismantling the printer to get at
the pads, and any cleaning/replacing of
 the pads, is quite pointless.

any clews about reseting the printer
 would be vastly appreciated.

cheers!
