I don't recall asking you to do anything.
I simply observed that cut-and-paste does not always work,
as you seemed mistakenly to believe.
I also pointed out what does always work for me, with KDE-3.2.1,
namely selecting the text to paste from the clipboard (klipper).

I certainly have no intention of studying the KDE source code,
if that is what you are suggesting.
Life is too short.

Yes. My laptop (Sony Picturebook C1VFK) has a middle button,
and I would start by trying that.
This always works, incidentally, within the same window,
eg when editing a document.

I doubt it.
In any case, it doesn't particularly worry me.
I find KDE, with KMail, KNode, etc, very good
and would recommend them to anyone.
(I tried Gnome for a time, on religious grounds,
but came to the conclusion it was not aimed at me.)
