Hi,
My company bought me a new Dell Laptop about 6 weeks ago.
When I took the laptop out of it's box and powered it up for the first
time, it kept on failing.
After 6 hours of fiddling, a lose DIMM was the cause.
Then 3 weeks later, my hard disk packed up, Dell had to send out a new
hard disk which took over 12 days to arrive.
The Dell laptop keyboard feels pretty plastic, and even the lettering on
the keys looks like a kiddes rub-on tattoo.
If I had to go for an x86 based laptop, I'd probably go for a Compaq.
(How about a PowerBook with Bochs http://bochs.sourceforge.net/ ? )
Just my 2 cents.
