AD Requires that DNS supports SRV Records and Dynamic Updates.
Each Server should be able to dynamically add the SRV records as pointed 
out from previous posts. You will need Dynamic DNS enabled.

According to MS Bind is supported from version  8.1.2 with respect to 
dynamically updating.

Is your Windows 2000 Domain Mixed Mode or Native Mode ???
