For ATA, yes, that's been what the market wanted.

S-ATA as an interface is vastly superior to ATA, and the market will
hopefully take note, indeed it already has i suspect, and we'll see
(indeed we already do see) S-ATA drives targeted at "enterprise"
market. Both Maxtor and WD already have, indeed if you look at WD's
"Legacy Products" page:

You'll note there is a blanket entry for "SCSI Hard Drives". Also,
intel have released the AHCI spec for S-ATA host controller, which
Jeff Garzik praised highly on linux-kernel the other day, so..
