That's a good read.

I think, mostly, people fear what they don't understand, certainly, before I
came in touch with Linux, I thought that people who used it, were the Holden
Caulfields of the computer industry, basically, hippies with keyboards.

When you get right down to it, though, the fear of the pain involved in using
Linux was in the first case irrational and in the long term case, completely
counter intuitive, since, when you do manage to break away from a Windows
environment, you wonder, what the hell you were ever doing there to begin with.

A bit like smoking that.

Speaking of which... I'm sure if we shouted and roared at Mary Hannafin enough,
we'd eventually get some grudging movement, like what happened with Eircom,
but, at a certain point, do you really care about saving the government from
it's own stupidity?

Just don't pay the tax, as a conscientious objector to the IT spending of the
government.

If it was a war, we were talking about, you could be a 'conscientious objector'
grow your hair and move to Canada.

I'll just not pay my taxes.... in good conscience too!
