That is not the case.
As I recall, the original poster explicitly said that
he was partitioning the disk, creating file-systems
and using cp to copy the data.
Also he appeared to be copying from an IDE disk to a SCSI disk,
since they were called, as I recall, hda and sda.

I find that people who are incapable of carrying on a discussion
without sinking to gutter talk are rarely worth listening to.
