I hope the ICTE at least will not pursue this issue.
Leave politics to the politicians.

It seems to me that the most fruitful line to take is:
"There is a simple way of modifying the system 
to take all the problems into account,
namely by adding a VVAT facility,
since this will allow one to determine if anything untoward has occurred."
