Thanks for the reply Paul. I followed your advice exactly as it's described above. All went to plan apart from my computer asking for disk 1 from Mandrake which seemed to install whatever it needed ok. So far so good.
Things only went wrong when I tried to connect to 192.168.1.1 through Konqueror. I got the following error message:
An error occurred while loading http://192.168.1.1
Could not connect to host 192.168.1.1
Am I correct in thinking that IOL use NAT and that all their ADSL routers use 192.168.1.1 as the gateway address? I could successfully ping 192.168.1.1 from the command line and when I tried to telnet onto that address it asked for a password. My IOL Broadband password didn't work so I'm not sure exactly what I was telnetting onto. It never asked for a username.
Actually, I'm just after checking and I can telnet onto 192.168.1.1 from Windows but again it doesn't accept my IOL password so I'm not sure what machine I'm telnetting onto. I can only assume that it's my ZyXEL ADSL router.
