[ILUG] proxies / security and leaking information

[ILUG] proxies / security and leaking information

Hi Guys/Gals,

Now I have a fixed IP address, I'd like to mask my IP address when
posting to forums / usenet / mailing list etc, especially since I often
will be discussing the setup/security of my home network in the first
place.

I mean I'm no hacker but when a slightly more clueless mate emailed me,
I was able to telnet into his modem with the default password in
seconds...

It seems my ADSL provider doesn't have a proxy I can use. What advice
would the rest of you ILUGers suggest to help keep the details separate
to my IP ?

Thanks
Justin
