Why not?
It takes a bit of time, but just go through the menus and setup
everything you need. If you forget something the first time, note it,
recompile, try again. Fair enough, it might require downtime ...

Compile a new set of modules. Better still, use this as an opportunity
to upgrade your kernel, to 2.6
