Hi All,
Having installed SuSE Linux enterprise 9 along with Novell's Nterprise
services from the Novell evaluation kit, I have a bit of a query regarding
LDAP.
Since I want to integrate this server into a Windows LAN for testing, I was
wondering if it is possible using OpenLDAP to replicate the Windows 2000
domain accounts into the LDAP directory? Since the LAN is primarily windows,
I would like to give some users access to the Linux box and ideally they
should be able to log on to the server using the same username and password.
the whole idea being that if their account password changed on doze it would
shortly be replicated to OpenLDAP.
Already on the LAN is a Netscape LDAP server on NT4 which does just this for
synchronising login's to a legacy HP3000 server as well as SAP on HP UX.
However as the SuSE machine is just for testing at the moment I'm reluctant
to use that LDAP server. And besides I'm considerably new to LDAP!
Can it be done and is it relatively straight forward?
Cheers
Robert
