i just use this:

    macro index S "s~/Mail/sa\r"
    macro pager S "s~/Mail/sa\r"

and then have sa-learn run through it every night via cron:

    sa-learn --spam $HOME/Mail/sa/new; rm $HOME/Mail/sa/new/*

~/Mail/sa is in maildir format:

    ~/Mail/sa/cur
    ~/Mail/sa/new
    ~/Mail/sa/tmp

if it was in mailbox format, just do this in cron:

    sa-learn --spam --mbox $HOME/Mail/sa; cat /dev/null > $HOME/Mail/sa
