Really?

Thats news, I wonder if the nv driver which comes with Mandrake 8.1 supports that?

http://nosher.net/useful/geforce-tvout.html

seems to argue with that attestation and yes, it looks like someone has
released a patch for the nv driver for XFree 4.3.0 (which I can't tell whether
it's maintained).

I guess if there was good reason to mess about with that then bonus.

However, since the BIOS on your motherboard (unless you're using LinuxBIOS) is
most likely a closed source, propiatery system.

I concede the principal of using an open source (patched, maintained?) driver
if you'll use LinuxBIOS or give a good logical reason why I should break a
system which works for me, relies on a propiatery (fairly critical) chunk of
code... but *not* flash the mobo bios on every system I, you or (n) comes to,
on the same principals.
