I'm trying chkrootkit as I write, but FYI, I tried it under a Knoppix 
boot (i.e. clean  system) and had the same warning. False positive I think.

However, chkrootkit seems to be stuck in a loop checking for "aliens", 
now that I have it running on the problematic system.
