I think you probably misunderstood me,
or else I am misunderstanding you.

Someone suggested I should use a proprietary driver 
with my ATI Rage Mobibility P/M graphics system,
and I was just saying that the only proprietary drivers I have seen
are for ATI Radeon rather than ATI Rage Mobility.

I did think of trying ATI's Radeon driver,
but I decided the chances of success were too small
to make it worthwhile.
But I may try it later, as a last last resort.
