I decided the exact same thing the other day, it is a complete PITA (I
just setup 1152x864 + 1024x768) screen and it is pretty crappy,

nope. I'm not happy with this myself, but you can either have DRI+mergedfb
dual head or just dual head... I'm thinking about what might be needed to
hack it, the big problem is the memory allocator....
