I don't use Apple either, but there are three people in the office here
that do.
The two designers that use Apples have had a rake of problems with
hardware - both had problems with OS9 and decided to upgrade to OSX.
Unfortunately, that caused one of the video cards to need replacing (was
not supported by OSX), and a lot of compatibility problems with older
software. Anyway... a lot of debugging ensued.
Currently, one of them is having periodic kernel panics, and the other
is making do with one monitor until we can get the other card working.
One of the managers, though, has never had a problem with his G4 laptop.
He's had it for what seems like a century, and it's still going strong.
