I'm wanting to set up a dedicated PC to firewall an
ADSL connection as well as monitor/manage the
bandwidth for about 10 PC's on the LAN.
I've played around with ipchains/iptables a bit but
never actually set up the firewall itself.
I've checked out smootwall express and I'm not sure it
can do everything I need (like limit bandwidth, give
stats on usage for each IP...etc...etc) and we can't
afford Smoothwall Limited (R10,000 from SA
reseller!!!!!).
Are there add ons to smoothwall (ummm free open
source) that can do bandwidth management or just tools
that can do the same with a homegrown linux firewall.
Hopefully that's clear enough to understand.
As always TIA,
C
