Ah, no it /did/ clean up /dev:
FC2 box:
# ls /dev | wc -l
7531
FC3:
# ls /dev | wc -l
275
anyway, udev went effortlessly so (as it had for me on debian sarge
too). So 'mkinitrd after upgrade, before reboot' seems to be only
real gotcha on FC2->FC3.
(other than running your apt-get upgrade from a screen session with
logging enabled so that you can easily grep for rpmnew/save's that
need cleaning up, but thats standard upgrade good-practice. Debian
does this better.)
