I'm not an apache expert by any means. I can change DocumentRoot and that's
about it... Anyway, I'm running an RH9 box with apache-2.0.40-21.16.legacy
(fedora-legacy project), php-4.2.2-17.7.legacy_ingres (compiled from src.rpm
with the --with-ingres switch) running against an Ingres II database on a
remote machine. php also runs against a local mysql database. Users
connect by https, authenticate and run various operations. The problem I'm
seeing is:

If I connect via https and run a long-running query against the ingres
database or if I run anything long-running (I tried a
'readfile("big_cd_image.iso")' in a script), all other https processes hang
until this one returns. Actually, it seems to be the same with http
processes. I can understand that the tons of data coming down the pipe
might hold things up but, the long-running database query is a session
waiting for data to appear. No output is coming but the session still
hangs.

Where should I start looking??

Conor
