I don't know if the same applies to Java, but when DoC and I found an
exploitable bug in Solaris 8 I mailed it to security-alert at sun.com and
found them responsive and good.
Their website;
http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=security/sec
... indicates that they take responsibility for all Sun software, which
would include Java. They're paid to worry about this kind of thing, so
make it their problem to sort out getting it to the right team and so on
:)
