What if $YOUR_DISTRIBUTION installs another DHCP client instead (eg: pump)?
Free advice: NEVER go directly for commands. ALWAYS use distribution-way
commands (eg: ifup/ifdown).
(You are using a distribution, aren't you? You didn't installed your system
gathering programs one by one, did you? You buy food at Tescos, rather than
chasing deers with bare hands, don't you?)
