The idea behind the request was to avoid further inflaming the
situation. As AJ posted, we are trying to come to some form of understanding
with Mr. Campbell, and it is difficult if people are going to continue to
discuss the matter.
I was very reluctant to step in and request an end to the discussion, if
nothing else it was turning interestingly away from the original issue, and
bringing people out that would normally remain in the background.
On the other side, I didn't quite expect to get the complete and docile
reaction I did (from previous experience of people trying to draw lines in
the ILUG sands
