[ILUG] My request yesterday

[ILUG] My request yesterday

Breathnach, Proinnsias (Dublin) p_breathnach at ml.com
Wed Feb 4 08:40:45 GMT 2004

All,
Mr. Newman (amongst others) has pointed out to me that my request yesterday
that we refrain from further comment on the BUA issue was worded a little
too strongly. I feel I owe the membership an apology for any offence that
may have been caused by the request - I'm not exactly used to being listened
to, especially by groups as ardent as ours. My intent was not to censor the
thread, but rather to request that people think before they hit the enter
key "How would I react if this email made it to the front page of the Irish
Times" ... because once the email is out - it can't be recalled, and in this
case it might just make it as far as the national media.
