Is the ILUG Social list dead from all that Spam?

I'm on the list digest for the main list but I deliberately subcribe to
ILUG social despite the deluge of Spam just so that I will see these kinds
of messages rather than have them delayed in a digest.

I understand and support the open policy of the main list but I utterly
fail to understand the need for it on the social list and at the very
least the Social list should have a far lower tolerance for spam, be
stict and reject much more of the incessant crapflood of spam and virus
mail it seems to attract.

I encourage our benvolent dictator not to simply speedily dismiss this
again and give some consideration to improving the decrepid barely usable
state of the social list.

Sincerely

Alan Horkan
