I've a need for some automated DVD backups. What I'd like would be some
ssh to a machine, grab files with mkisofs, and spit them to stdout
The output would then be passed to cdrecord (with suitable sized buffers)
So, there would be no need to have temporary files on the DVD machine. At
the moment, backing up 3GB of files needs 6GB of space on the DVD machine,
which is a pain.
Any ideas how it could be done ?
I was thinking of maybe:
ssh backup at box mkisofs -o - -R -J / | cdrecord
but it doesn't seem that mkisofs can output to stdout at all.
