Dear ILUG
It's expo-time again. You may be aware that in the past we have had a stand at
the EXPO. The expo requires a lot of effort for it to be a success, but it can
be fun for all involved and it is a great event for us to display our
community and LINUX.
It is not possible for the committee to drive this project by themselves and
this is where you can help as a member of ILUG. We will be seeking your
advice, expertise and commitment in order to put on a successful Expo stand.
In order for things to go smoothly this year, we're going to ask interested
iluggers to form an expo working group to drive this. The committee will of
course input to this working group as well. From past experience, this
requires at least 8 people, but we would like to see more and more of you get
involved in this event this year. (Lurkers welcome too ;-)
If that many people get together and organise in the next week, we'll set up a
mailing list for the purpose.
If there is insufficent interest & commitment, then we may recommend to ILUG
NOT to do the expo.
If a committee is organised then how you do it is up to yourselves. From past
experience the following suggestions apply:
* Interesting Talks & Tutorials
* Interesting Demonstrations to be held
* Fact & Figures (For leaflets and other material)
* Persons to give talks
* Every day uses of Linux that affect people in their everyday life
* Reliable Volunteers
Yours
Your Committee
